Hi everyone,

Everything going well on the SELS campus. Students are enjoying the return of beautiful weather. Lots to share this week, so please take the time to read it all:

  • Some additional learning from our emergency drills of recent:

    • All volunteers need to sign in on Office clipboard when working on campus. When emergencies occur, we need to know who is in the classrooms.

    • During an emergency drill (or real emergency, for that matter), no one on campus is allowed to leave until we have given an all clear.

    • To better track students, please call or email if your child is absent and make sure you sign in/out for late arrival or early pick up (on clipboard in Office).

    • Make sure we have your most recent emergency contact information. If you have moved or changed phone numbers within the past year, you may want to check with us.

    • Our automated phone system is used for emergencies (and also for Snow Days) – you should all now be entered. Another reason you need to make sure we have your most recent information.

  • I will be a conference in Granlibakken Thursday and Friday. Lynn Akers will be in the Office for help.

  • Please make sure your children are dressing appropriately for the weather. As we get colder and wetter, this becomes more important.

  • Monday, Nov 5 from 6-9 pm in M-2 is our next Board of Director’s meeting.

  • Monday, Nov 12 is Veteran’s Day – No School.

HAPPY BEAR WALK EVE

  • Thank you to everyone volunteering, we have a great crew for tomorrow! The weather looks to be holding, however, the track seems muddy in spots. Please have your student wear shoes that can get muddy. We will not cancel due to weather, we will alternate crews walking in the gym if necessary. The pledge money is due one week later on Wednesday, November 7th. Checks can be made payable to SELS PTC.

  • Claudia Zischke is a local artisan, SELS grandmother and rep for a line of unique items will have a table set up at the Bear Walk. If anyone is interested in getting an early start on Holiday shopping there will be items for sale. She will accept cash or check.  Claudia has some great stuff and will donate $5 of every item sold to SELS PTC.

PTC MEETING

  • The next PTC meeting will be Wednesday, November 7 @ 5:30pm. We hope to see you there! Children are welcome and snacks will be served. We will be planning the Gratitude Dinner and our hope is to have a representative from each crew.

    FALL FAMILY PHOTOS

  • The SELS Fall Family Photo fundraiser is happening next Sunday, November 4 @ Martis Camp.  We still have a few spots available. Please email us at PTC@truckeecharterschool.org or look for Stacey Carr at the Bear Walk to sign up.

    SELS LIBRARY

  • Please return ALL library books by this Friday, so we can have an accurate count. We are having a SELS library work day on Saturday, November 3, at 1pm. Stop by if you would like to help organize the library and get books entered into our new system. Kids are welcome to play outside. We need cleaners, book alphabetizers, shelvers, scanners, duplicate spotters, tapers, etc. There is a job for you!

A FEW REMAINING T-SHIRTS / SWEATSHIRTS FOR SALE: Please check in the Office for sizes and costs.
