Director's note
I hope everyone is as excited as we are with less than two weeks before school starts. The teachers are nearly finished with classroom set-up and the office and library/resource room are taking shape. Please come by and check them out on Tuesday evening at our final work event on Aug 17th. A big thank you for all the community help; we had a large turnout on Aug 3rd to help with facilities clean up and have been receiving extensive donations of time, money, and equipment. Our big news: a $20,000 technology donation (computers, I-Pads, printers, projectors) from the McDermott Family. Very exciting! I look forward to meeting many of you over the next couple of weeks at our Back to School/Parent Nights and our Grand Opening.

Kohl's Cares for Kids - please vote on Facebook!
Now through September 3, please vote for Sierra Expeditionary Learning School to win $500,000 in the Kohl’s Cares contest. We’re getting a late start, but if 50 parents can get 100 or more of their Facebook friends to vote for our school five times each, we could get 25,000 votes and have a good chance to be one of the top 20 schools who wins $500,000.

Think of what we could do with that money—build up our library, cover expedition fieldwork costs, invest in a permanent facility. Please vote today and forward to all your friends!
